Offering new titles?
Gopher News Company welcomes the opportunity to diversify our current title selection. We currently distribute thousands of titles from numerous vendors. In order for a new title to be selected we must have great confidence that the sale of the title will warrant the expense and effort involved in establishing a new vendor.
Our standard vendor discount for magazines is 50% off retail with 10% RDA. If RDA is not available then the discount should be 60% off retail. Our standard vendor discount for books is 55%; calendars and maps must be 60%. If you’re offering better discounts than these to other wholesale channels, then we expect the terms to carry through to Gopher News Company.
We will allow amendments to our purchasing agreement under certain circumstances. The supplier must clearly indicate the changes in writing.
If you have questions about our Purchasing Agreement Form or would like general guidance on getting your title to market, we suggest you contact a magazine consultant or national distributor.
Procedures
1) Review and sign the Purchasing Agreement.
2) Fill in the Vendor Application Form and Title Information Form.
3) Please send a sample of the publication(s), along with the three completed forms:
Purchasing Agreement, Vendor Application Form, and Title Information Form. All items should be mailed to the Purchasing Manager at our Minneapolis address. Samples will not be returned.
